“but the Lord will not leave them in the power of the wicked or let them be condemned when brought to trial.” Psalm 37:33
The Lord may allow trials to come but we will not be overcome by the power of the wicked. There are many promises living in the soul of the believer that will give us encouragement for the day. It may appear the power of the wicked is overcoming but the power of the Lord is present and stronger.
There is no greater power existing than the power of the Lord. Job even said during his trial,
“I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” Psalm 42:2
Job lived knowing God could do all things and He could even take care of all his trials. We know Job’s life was facing trial after trial but there was an assurance living deep in his heart. The trial didn’t overcome Job in his heart, the deep place of assurance, he rested in God’s power.
What can we do to live in God’s power during the times of trials in life? The presence of God is the continual action we keep coming back to. Reminding ourselves there is no greater place to be than in the presence of God, even in the trial. Realizing God is always with us helps our soul to regain minute by minute strength. The Lord doesn’t leave us when the power of the wicked are surrounding us, this is the place where we find Him.
