The Answer for Slander

When one of them comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander; then he goes out and spreads it around. Psalm 41:6

David’s enemies began to slander him, and their lies about him started to grow.  David’s rivals began with lies because they knew David’s heart was pure. The enemy created false accusations about David to keep the slander alive.

Slander doesn’t begin with truth for it is fueled with lies, and often, the accuser starts to gossip about another without including any fact. The pot begins to stir, and the drama has already started as many people thrive on drama, so they fuel the gossip. All of this behavior and strife begins in the heart.

We can keep ourselves free from slander by keeping our words pure and true.  We can’t allow gossip and slander in our lives, because we should want the best for others. We desire to love others and spread words that uplift them. Slander thrives on lies and evil intentions towards others. It is our role to continue to love amid lies even if they are directed at us.
