Breaktime: All the Money in the World

All the Money in the World

No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them—  Psalm 49:7

All the money in the world and all the treasures can’t buy the life of another. No one can redeem another no matter how large the bank account nor how hard they try. Even in all the boasting, there is not enough wealth to redeem another. Our money isn’t sufficient to purchase redemption or reconciliation.

Redemption is not bought; it has been freely given to us, for we can’t buy or earn this place with Jesus. The price tag can’t be fulfilled by earthly measures but only by God alone. Even if we live in mansions all lit up doesn’t mean there is life. Living isn’t found in what we have but who has us. All the money in the world can’t buy contentment or success.

18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.  I Peter 1:18,19

There is a way to redemption, and it’s through Jesus. There is a ransom which has already been given, and now we walk in all Jesus has done. It is difficult to imagine Jesus giving His life for a ransom but friends that is grace. We don’t earn this redemption or can we buy it; this is a gift which money can’t buy.
