Breaktime: Finding Value

Finding Value
the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough— 9 so that they should live on forever and not see decay. Psalm 49:8,9

There is still not enough money to buy eternal life, and all the funds in the world cannot keep any of us alive. We can’t even buy enough medicine to keep us alive. The Psalmist was surrounded by affluent people who didn’t trust in God but were trusting in their wealth.

Even after all these years, we still suffer from some of the same thoughts. We can’t buy life’s happiness and contentment, and we can’t purchase treasures that will quiet the heart or bring peace and joy. Living a long life can even become an idol for some of us. We can hope for a long life on earth and miss all the heavenly treasures God desires to give now.

Many live thinking this world is where the actual value is present, but Jesus says things like: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,  your   kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9,10  It is God’s Kingdom we are invited into each and every day, but some get confused and believe it is their kingdom. Asking God for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven is beyond any value we can find here. Heavenly kingdom treasures being released here is where we can see all that will bring life. Let go of the decreasing value of treasures of this world and invest in the ever-increasing Kingdom of God and find all the value you will ever need.
