Breaktime: Overcome

Overcome

You have delivered me from all my troubles, and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes. Psalm 54:7

David escapes another trial in his life, and his heart is content, knowing God has taken care of his enemies. His heart stayed clear of malice and hatred toward those who pursued him, for he knew God would one day deliver him. He learned to wait, even when everyone would leave his side.  David understood the power of prayer even in uncertain times.

What about us? Have we received many trials and difficulties in our work or home, even to the place where our friends have turned their backs on us? You are not alone; this is the place David sought God. If we could learn that God can see all our troubles, and in His time, He will bring the most exceptional result of the trial.

Maybe the times of troubles are there to admit our need for God. It is in those places where our demand of God grows, but also the temptation to turn our back. The areas of life’s hardships are where God desires to sit with us as a constant companion and give us strength. David was an overcomer because He sought God instead of blaming God. We, just like David, can make prayer our continuous cry out to God.
