Breaktime: Save us, God

Save Me, God

Save me, O God, by your name; vindicate me by your might. Psalm 54:1

There is no other excellent name in heaven or on earth than the name of God. When we call on His name, He hears us when we call. He bends His ear to listen to the cries of His people. God is a listening God, but He also sees all, knows all, is with us always and all-powerful. That should be reason enough to call on His name.

For most, we have a situation right now, which we need saving. We need God’s mighty hand of deliverance to cure our thoughts and heart. If we’re honest, we need God’s mighty name and all the attributes to intervene in our life. For most, we carry the weight of hardships that we were never intended to carry. For some of us, we have lived in denial for so long it has become part of us.

But like the Psalmist, isn’t it time to let go of the ways which are contrary and bringing unrest?  We don’t have to wait for another day to pass, but God graciously invites us to let go.

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30
