Breaktime: Sustain

Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me. Psalm 54:4

David had a firm grip on who was the source of his help and where to go with all of life’s issues. He knew the answer could be found in seeking God because this is where David found sustainment.

Have you ever thought of your life in terms that God is the one who sustains you? Not your job, your friends, your finances, or even your family, but God. He is the One sustainable plan you can apply directly to your life. God is the One who will never let you go, even when all of life is falling apart or seems to be. Nothing catches God off guard, and reaching out to God as the source of all life’s sustainability is where we find strength.

It is an exciting truth the Palmist has engrained in his life− knowing God is the One who sustains him. Who is sustaining your life? Do you have a plan? We all desire for our experience to work, but we all have to realize we need help. Having God as our helper gives us more than what we imagined our life could look like. God is more than a maintenance program we initiate when life gets tough. He is our life consistently.
