Breaktime: Unwrapping Jesus

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. John 3:16,17

God didn’t decide to fix the world by giving commands and demanding a way to live, but instead, He chose to send His Son in the middle of all the mess. God didn’t wait until the world deserved His Son or even wanted a Savior. Most who were waiting for the Messiah expected a Warrior who was going to terrorize the neighborhood with His authority and abolish the Roman rule.

Instead, what we have today is a Savior who’s sacrifice paid the penalty that was indeed ours. We were the ones who deserved the punishment but instead, God came to our mess and suffered. His blood was poured out and He paid the price and now, we receive all the benefits from Jesus as our Savior. We get to walk in the forgiveness Jesus provided and there is no other plan.

So now we get to unwrap this gift of Jesus every day and walk in the truths. There is no other plan for our life other than Jesus. Sometimes we try to make another plan other than Jesus only to find we are paying the consequences. Jesus comes to rescue us from the messes of life, and this day, we make room for Him as our Savior. He is more than a casual guest fro His presence is everything and enough. We know this by daily surrender to Him, our Savior but it could be we don’t have enough room for Him in our life. There could be too many presents we would rather have than the presence of Jesus.
