Breaktime: Unwrapping the Almighty

Unwrapping the Almighty

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called  Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

We often think of Jesus being the gentle and sometimes even passive Savior. But what about calling Him the Mighty God. He is God and His ministry here on earth is almighty. He healed the sick, raised the dead, forgave man their sins and set the captives free. His ministry here was mighty and continues to be.

But here now Jesus says,

12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:12-14

Jesus now continues being Almighty through us. He says we will be doing greater things but now through us. Each day is another day to be a blessing as Jesus. We get to unwrap this gift and allow His presence to live through us.
