Breaktime: Walking Over Fear

Walking over Fear

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, Psalm 46:2

Fear, what a waste of time and energy. Fear keeps us bound and unable to move in confidence in the direction we are supposed to head. Instead of moving forward, we often take the path of least resistance and avoid pushing through our fear.

But the truth is, nothing can remove us from the presence of God and his refuge. Though life may seem hopeless with little energy to make it through another crisis, God is there. He is the only source that can sustain us and help us make sense of our situation through the avenue of faith.

Faith is the bridge we take over the streams of fear. We all have areas of fear, but when we recognize we are not alone, we can take God at his word even though everything in us may be saying otherwise. God gives us the courage we need to take the next step of life over fear. No one said it would be easy, but God, in our weakness, gives us strength. Though the earth gives away, we can still stand because our foundation is in God and we can still stand because our eyes are fixed on God.
