Breaktime: Where to Go

The Place to Go

22 Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22

When troubles come our way, and they will, we can live in confidence and not be shaken. But how? Living in certainty is knowing where to go with our stresses. The place that we have destined as our hope will determine how we face each day.

If our faith is in the news and what we hear as our possible outcome, we may experience hopelessness. The marvelous promise we have in this passage is God can sustain us in our time of need. The burdens of life are heavy and can weigh us down. But whatever comes our way, we are to talk to God and trust in Him with the outcome. We have a responsibility to bring all our burdens to God. Many use the phrase give it to God, but following through is where we attain victory.

The promise is God will sustain us; He is our strength. Troubles will come our way, but nothing can separate us for His love, He will not let us fall.

Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[a]) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:35-37
