No Talk of Hell
But the wicked will perish: though the Lord’s enemies are like the flowers of the field, they will be consumed, they will go up in smoke. Psalm 37:20
The day of judgment is coming and it’s a difficult topic to talk about for most of us, so we avoid it. It’s almost like we may think God needs us to defend Him, so we water down His words. When we try to explain the place of hell to others, the words can become twisted and often with little conviction of truth.
When it comes to hell, we need to allow God to do the judgment for it is His job, not ours. We don’t have to be the judge on that day nor on this day. We have been fired from the job of judging because we are blinded to the heart of others. It may be a difficult topic because none of us would want to experience its torture. Many may choose the broad road which leads to destruction, but the end is ruin.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. Matthew 7:13
Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Hebrews 9:27,28
The judgment is waiting but Jesus has shown us the way. Jesus is more than the One who saves us from hell, He saves us from daily living. He saves us from wicked living from the inside out. We may be surrounded by wickedness but we have a Savior and now we show others the way out.
