“I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing like a luxuriant native tree” Psalm 37:35

There is no surprise to find a wicked man flourishing and boasting of his own power. To the wicked, the ego needs to be fed and nourished. The ego sends the wicked into a ruthless state trying to flourish in their limited life. The only thing they see is what’s here and now, not giving mind to eternity. They are interested in building their own kingdom here with no regard to the need of others.

There is nothing that says the wicked can’t or won’t see prosperity here. However, the real truth and problem is, when they are gone from this physical world, all is lost for nothing goes with them. The fullness of their prosperity will soon end in the emptiness of the grave and what a sad reality to those whose goal is ruthlessness.

Should it bring us comfort to know the wicked will end in destruction? David wrote significantly about the prosperity of the evil yet he wanted to remind us, man cannot serve both

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Matthew 6:24

The object of our affection can blind us from what God is trying to reveal to us. However, take caution so the idols of this world don’t replace the devotion to the Lord.

Today in the Workplace:

Do you have an object of affection that is trying to blindside you?
