Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. Psalm 43:3

David is now pleading for light and the faithful care of God. He desires God to lead him with his favor, which seemed to have been taken from David. He wants to be restored to the place he was with God when all the privileges were right at hand. It is almost as though David wanted to be restored to an earlier date.

Our computers can be restored to a prior date. Often when the attack comes against our computer and messes with the data and performances, we can choose a time when it seemed to be running fine to find relief.

However, it is not the same with God; his favor doesn’t leave us when things are coming against our life; it is often quite the opposite. We can’t be taken back to a later date, but we can find the strength to live in the now regardless of the situation. It is through the light we find our way, and through His faithfulness, we find the courage to live in the present. Circumstances don’t have to change to find God, but our heart must seek him wherever we are. Allow His light to lead you to the presence within.
