Vindicate me, my God, and plead my cause against an unfaithful nation. Rescue me from those who are deceitful and wicked. Psalm 43:1
David is asking God to look at his situation and find resolve. He is mistreated and has a great need for God to rescue him. David knew God could see all, and he knew God could intervene and bring justice. This is the One True God David is calling out too. David even felt like the whole nation of Isreal had turned their back on him.
We all desire fair treatment from others, especially those close to us. But often in life, the biased times come as unfair actions may happen at work, home, or anywhere we live in relationship with others. People will sometimes only hear one side and believe what they hear. In David’s case, the injustice came from those closest to him.
The answer is to stay clear of resentment and vengeance by keeping it before God. Give God the space to deliver us instead of falling in to hate. God can and will plead our case in his perfect timing. He has already saved us from being overpowered by the treatment of others. We don’t have to let the actions and words of others determine how we respond to the world. God can and will use the situation for His glory. Whenever seasons of unfairness come our way, remember God is doing something more significant than we may recognize.
